OHIO EXPO CENTER SIGNAGE
Tasked with designing a system of neighborhood icons for all directional pylon signage across the Ohio Expo Center campus. Eight distinct neighborhoods, each represented by a unique icon to be integrated into the new wayfinding system.
LANDMARK IMAGERY
After reviewing the campus imagery collected by Populous on site, initial concepts began to emerge for each neighborhood. Various landmark options were explored, with an emphasis on selecting visually distinct elements that could be easily differentiated from one another.
DIGITAL ITERATION
Established clear design rules before designing to ensure they functioned as a cohesive system. Each neighborhood icon utilizes a color inspired by a recognizable location in the park or key landmark. Every neighborhood presented unique challenges—whether it was balancing dimension with simplicity or switching landmarks midway through iteration.
